Reaching Hand is governed by the Trust Deed, which specifies its objectives and powers. Our governing board consists of eight members and is directed towards the mission of creating real and lasting changes in the lives of marginalized children and women by initiating specific programs.  Over the years, Reaching Hand has formed an active, well-informed and independent Board to ensure highest standards of governance. The Board facilitates and oversees the management team as it serves, and protects the long term interest of all stakeholders. The Board bears ultimate responsibility for Reaching Hand achieving the purposes for which it exists.
The five main tasks of the Board are :
- Policy formulation
- Strategic thinking
- Management supervision
- Fundraising
- Accountability to the organization’s supporters, donors, staff and those who are connected together by its vision.
Responsibilities of the Board
- Determine the organisation’s mission, purpose and strategic direction and the policies that will best enable the achievement of these.
- Provide strategic leadership through constructive challenging of key assumptions and strategies and management views and proposals
- Approve the annual programs plan and budgets
- Ensure there are mechanisms for hearing the view of key stakeholders
- Ensure high levels of organizational accountability and transparency
- Provide necessary directions to the management
- Actively engage in raising funds

Mr. V.M. Samuel
A leader and has been leading many organizations and giving directions, involved in various philanthropic and social activities for the last 37 years in India.
Mr. D.V. Krishnan
A hydraulic post graduate engineer by profession; is running a business in Bangalore for over 37 yrs.
Mr. K. Thomas Saju
A mechanical engineer by profession is running a manufacturing business in Bangalore with 32+ yrs. of experience.
Mr. Abey Thomas
Owns a flourishing hardware and a training centre. He is in business for the last 26 yrs; and also does Real-Estate Development.
Mr. T.M. Santhosh
An MBA who works as a Director in a Private Limited company in Bangalore and also managing the Administration, Accounts and Finance of a few Trusts and Societies for the last 14 years.
Mr. Fenwick Thomas
An Electrical Engineer by profession with 25 years of working experience in Defense Research and also as an Entrepreneur. Presently works as the Partner in a Machine Tool Manufacturing Company, FAR, an ISO 9001 certified company.
Dr. George Cherian
Professor in Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology, KLE Society’s Institute of Dental Sciences, founder of a premium IT training company and CEO of a reputed BPO.
Mr. Srinivas Raghavan
Studied Electronics and Telecommunication, having work experience of more than 20 years in corporate set up, presently working with Greater India and Thailand in Schneider Electric India.
