Our goal is to have a permanent place for our children so that they can be looked after better. The premises where the children are staying currently is a rented building, and we are facing constraints with regard to space as the children grow, and as a result their activities are affected. As such, we have decided that a long term solution has to be found for the sake of the children’s development and have identified an area on the outskirts of the city that we would like to acquire. Although land prices in Bangalore have been steadily rising, we realize that if we wait any longer, the costs are only going to keep going up, and we would like to take advantage of the potential cost-savings that our Home could make in the long-run through such an acquisition. The building we are planning for will be one that can house a total of 500 children. The basement will have a medical clinic that will cater to the needs of the children and also will be open to the public in that area, thereby extending subsidized medical services to the poor.
Raising the capital funds for the Organization is difficult. We’re looking for donors who can make anywhere from $10,000, $ 40,000 to $50,000 or pledge more to buy the land. However, even a small amount can go a long way in funding our New Home project. A person’s charity is not measured by the size of the donation, but rather by the genuineness of the intent.

This building contains the reception area, office space, kitchen, dinning room, laundry and staff quarters. The first floor and second floor will be bedrooms for children. The rooms will share a balcony, so the children can all go outside for some fresh air especially in such a hot weather. The level below the first floor will have a large dining place for all the children. The lowest level will house the recreational and study area. This New Home can be house a total of 300 Children. In the basement, we will have a small Clinic and the medical staff will attend to the needs of the children. This is also open to the public for the poor families of that area. There will be a very small charge for people not residing in the Home.
Reaching Hand’s New Home would like to think that it is building the foundations of a compassionate society through the love and peace that it offers to the children in its care. The Reaching Hand's president has many plans for securing a good life for the children that will be residing in its premises in the years ahead. All the plans are subject to the amount of money that can be raised through donations and the fund-raising activities.
